Surviving the Hostile City

Your city is struck with a disaster: no food, no water, no police, no medical, and no power. Chaos is everywhere. Gangs are running in the streets; looters are going from building to building. Are you prepared? Will you survive or will you be a victim? This book will show you how to store food and supplies you will need to Survive in a Hostile City!

Eagle Scout to Killer

This book is graphic and violent because thats what war is. Its not a romantic adventure. Soldiers do not acquire PTSD and moral injury from participating in peaceful endeavors. Although this book is centered on the Vietnam War, it is not meant to be a war story. Do you know the difference between a war story and a fairy tale? A fairy tale starts out, Once upon a time, while a war story starts out, No shit, there I was. That’s the only difference. From there on, it is all the same. This book is about the emotional toll and lasting effects of the horrors of war that afflict combat soldiers. It is the story of the transformation of a young Eagle Scout into a warrior and the lifelong memories and scars that burden him. These types of traumatic events will haunt combat veterans for the rest of their lives. This is not an antimilitary book. The military itself is made up of brave, loyal, unselfish men and women who leave their homes and risk their lives to make sure we are safe and democracy is preserved. I am proud of my service to this country and of what I did. If there is a fault with the military, it is not with the individual soldier but with the politicians and senior leadership that sometimes take their eye off the ball and the goal of the mission.

CIA's Gulf of Tonkin Secrets

When retired Special Forces soldier Kurt Andrew Atwood receives a call in July of 1991 from “The Company,” he can’t imagine what the CIA needs from him. Now running a security firm, Atwood is older and has changed since his service in the Vietnam War.

He discovers he’s being recruited to run an unauthorized, undercover mission to rescue General Fong and his family from Vietnam. Atwood clearly remembers Fong and his involvement in the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964. Fong helped stage a hoax attack on American ships in the Gulf of Tonkin to escalate the war and persuade President Johnson to send more troops. Now, authorities fear someone will discover Fong’s collaboration and wage an attack against the CIA.

Testimonials

Surviving the Hostile City

This book is a must have. Basically a “Survival for Dummies” book that will get your attention and spur you to action. Easy to read and understand. Looking forward to the next in the series.

This book by Alwood is a no-nonsense, in your face, approach to the fundamentals surviving when the “grid” goes down; from 72 hour to over a year. Yes this book covers food, H2O, medical, communication, defense, weapons and hunter/gathering skills, to name but a few topics. This book is over 100 pages, densely packed with critical information to set you in the right direction to ultimately survive and protect your loved ones. The book will do you no good if you do not heed the warning. You must prepare NOW, one can, one bullet, one bottle of water at a time, until you make your goal to sustain yourself for predetermined amount of time that will work for you. The consequences are grave, so much so that the last chapter of the book covers cannibalism!

In reading surviving a hostile city I was immediately moved by the conversational tone of the author to convey not only complex ideas and approaches to preparedness but w commonsensical eloquence. Mr Alwood draws from a lifetime of military service in some of the most austere environments on the planet and the ability to juxtapose this to how a civilian can apply the proven methodology in an urban environment really reasonates throughout the work. I felt this work to be an excellent primer on personal preparedness and look forward to reading the rest of the series and would recommend this book as an excellent gift to friends and family serious self reliance.
